Pipe Relining in Mandurah

Pipe relining in Mandurah fixes sewer and stormwater lines from the inside, so there is no trench to pump out on a waterfront block. We check the line on camera first and hand you the recording, which matters when the property is a holiday home or a rental you are not standing in.

Recent job: Mandurah

Roots 26 metres down a shared line between two units

  • Roots at 26 m
  • Pull-in reline

A pair of units in Mandurah kept blocking. We jetted the line and ran the camera, and found roots getting in about 26 metres downstream, behind the second unit, where the pipe also had a hole in it.

  • The camera went in again after jetting to pin down exactly where the roots were entering.
  • The nearest access point was a shaft in the neighbour's backyard, so the liner was pulled in from there.
  • One liner sealed both the root entry and the hole, with no trench across either unit's yard.

Near the water

Why digging up a sewer on a canal block is harder

Mandurah is built around the estuary and its canals, and on a lot of blocks the pipe is not far from the water. Replacing it the traditional way means a trench, and near the water a trench brings its own problems.

Groundwater

Close to the water it sits near the surface, so a sewer-depth trench can fill and has to be pumped before work starts.

Loose sand

The sides will not stand on their own, so a narrow pipe needs a wide, shored hole.

Paved to the waterline

Waterfront blocks are often paved from the house to the jetty, and that paving sits on top of the line.

Owners who are not on site

Holiday homes and rentals: see the pipe without being there

Plenty of Mandurah homes belong to people who live somewhere else: a weekender, a holiday rental or an investment property. When the drain backs up, you are deciding on a repair you cannot see. The camera solves that.

  • The CCTV inspection recording is handed to you, so you see the fault yourself.
  • The written scope says what is being relined, from where to where.
  • The camera runs again after the reline, and you get that footage too.

If an agent manages the property, see our page for property managers. If an insurer is involved, see pipe relining and insurance.

How it runs

How a Mandurah relining job runs

The camera goes in from an existing access point. The line is cleaned, then the liner goes in and cures in place against the old wall. Older homes may have clay sewer pipe that fails at the joints; newer PVC with one fault often suits patch relining. Shared lines under units are covered on strata pipe relining.

Each step is set out in how pipe relining works, and what moves the price is on our pipe relining cost page. For the other areas we cover, see our service areas.

What Mandurah owners ask us about pipe relining

Do you do pipe relining in Mandurah?
Yes. Mandurah is on our service areas page, the furthest south of the areas we list. Send your suburb with your enquiry and we will confirm.
I do not live in Mandurah. Can the job be done while I am away?
Yes, as long as someone can give us access. The CCTV recording is handed over, so you see the inside of your own pipe from wherever you are, and the camera runs again after the reline so you can see the finished job the same way.
Can a sewer on a canal block be relined?
Usually, yes, if the pipe still holds its shape and there is an access point at one end. Relining matters more on waterfront blocks, because a trench close to the water can take on groundwater and has to be pumped out before anyone can work in it.
What if part of the pipe has collapsed?
A liner needs a pipe that still holds its shape. Where a section has collapsed, that section is dug up and replaced, and the rest can still be relined. We tell you which from the footage before quoting.

Drain backing up at a Mandurah property?

Tell us the suburb and what the drain is doing. We will run the camera, send you the recording, and quote to reline it without a trench near the water.
