Pipe Relining in Joondalup

Pipe relining in Joondalup fixes sewer and stormwater lines from the inside, so the pool surround, the paved alfresco and the limestone retaining wall above the pipe are never lifted. We check the line on camera first, then reline it from an access point that is already there.

Pipe relining in Joondalup uses a liner like this one: laid flat along a concrete footpath before it goes in, with a technician's hand smoothing it and the draw rope running its length.

Recent job: Mullaloo

A broken junction 3 metres down, right beside a retaining wall

  • Mullaloo
  • 3 m deep
  • Beside a retaining wall
  • Relined next morning

The junction at the sewer inspection shaft had broken, about 3 metres below ground and right next to a retaining wall. Digging down to it would have meant a deep hole against the wall.

We relined the junction from inside the shaft instead. The quote went out the day we inspected it, and the liner was cured and the packer pulled out the next morning.

What sits over the pipe

Why digging up a Joondalup sewer costs more than the pipe

On a typical northern suburbs block, the sewer does not run under lawn for long. Between the house and the boundary it usually passes under something that was expensive to build.

Pools and surrounds

A backyard pool often went in after the house, with its paving laid straight over the existing line. If the pool's own pipes are the problem, see pool pipe relining.

Limestone walls

Sloping blocks are terraced with limestone, and a trench beside or under a wall puts the wall at risk.

Alfresco and driveways

Replacement means lifting pavers that rarely relay to match. See relining under a driveway.

Sand over limestone

The ground slumps into an open trench and is slow to dig where the limestone sits close to the surface.

Recent job: Edgewater

One junction and three faults, lined in one run

  • Edgewater
  • 150 mm junction
  • 3 faults in 2 m
  • One continuous liner

The camera found a failed 150mm junction at the inspection shaft, and three more faulty spots in the 2 metres of pipe above it.

Patching each one would have left the joints in between untouched. So we relined the junction, then lined the 2 metre run upstream in one length to cover all three. The garden stayed as it was.

Older suburbs and newer estates

The pipes we find across Joondalup

The City of Joondalup takes in established suburbs and newer estates, and the pipe in the ground tends to match the age of the house. The camera tells us which one you have.

Older homes

Clay sewer pipe

Clay pipe opens at its joints, and that is where roots from established gardens get in. Our page on tree roots in pipes explains why cutting them out does not last.

Newer homes

PVC pipe

PVC does not rot, but joints get pushed apart and pipes get cracked by later work. A single fault in otherwise sound PVC often suits patch relining rather than a full reline.

How it runs

How a Joondalup relining job runs

A CCTV drain inspection goes in from an existing access point, and you get the recording. The line is cleaned, then the liner goes in and cures in place against the old wall. Each step is set out in how pipe relining works, and what moves the price is on our pipe relining cost page.

Strata schemes in the area can start with strata pipe relining. For the other areas we cover, see our service areas.

What Joondalup owners ask us about pipe relining

Do you do pipe relining in Joondalup?
Yes. Joondalup is one of the areas on our service areas page, along with the suburbs around it. Send your suburb with your enquiry and we will confirm.
My Joondalup home has PVC pipe. Can that still need relining?
Yes. PVC does not rot, but its joints can be pushed apart by roots and by ground movement, and the pipe can be cracked by later work such as a pool, a retaining wall or a reticulation trench. A PVC line in good shape around one fault often suits a patch rather than a full reline.
Can you reline a sewer that runs under the pool or alfresco area?
Usually, yes, as long as the pipe still holds its shape and there is an access point at one end. The liner cures inside the old pipe, so the pool surround, paving and slab above it are not lifted. The camera run confirms it before we quote.
What if part of the pipe has collapsed?
A liner needs a pipe that still holds its shape. Where a section has collapsed, that section is dug up and replaced, and the rest can still be relined. We tell you which from the footage before quoting.

Drain playing up under the pool or the paving?

Tell us the suburb and what the drain is doing. We will run the camera, show you the pipe, and quote to reline it without lifting what sits on top.
