Pipe Relining in Rockingham

Pipe relining in Rockingham repairs sewer and stormwater lines from the inside, so there is no trench to dig through loose coastal sand. We check the line on camera first, then reline it from an access point that is already there.

Recent work around Rockingham

What we have found and fixed in the City of Rockingham

  • Rockingham: the toilet was replaced and the pipework below it relined in the same job, so the new pan went onto a sound line rather than the old one.
  • Hillman: a drain that kept blocking turned out to have roots getting in at two points, a PVC joint and the junction at the inspection shaft. That is the pattern on newer lines: the pipe is fine, the joints are not.
  • Safety Bay: a whole-house blockage was cleared, and the camera found roots about 2 metres from the sewer shaft, a short section that suits a local reline rather than the full length.

Why it matters here

Why a trench in Rockingham sand gets big fast

Replacing a sewer the traditional way means a trench along the line. Near the coast, that trench is a bigger job than the pipe at the bottom of it.

Loose sand

The sides will not stand on their own, so the trench is shored or cut back at an angle, and a narrow pipe needs a wide hole.

Shallow groundwater

Close to the water, a deep trench can take on water and needs pumping before anyone can work in it.

What gets undermined

Paths, slabs and fence footings beside a sand trench can drop as the sand runs out from under them.

Relining avoids most of that. The new pipe is cured inside the old one, and the ground above the relined length is not opened.

How it runs

How a Rockingham relining job runs

A CCTV drain inspection goes in from an existing access point, and you get the recording. The line is cleaned, then the liner goes in and cures in place against the old wall. Each step is set out in how pipe relining works, and what moves the price is on our pipe relining cost page.

What Rockingham owners ask us about pipe relining

Do you do pipe relining in Rockingham?
Yes. Rockingham is one of the areas on our service areas page, along with the suburbs around it. Send your suburb with your enquiry and we will confirm.
Why is digging a sewer near the coast harder?
Loose sand does not hold the side of a trench, so it has to be shored or battered back, which makes the hole far wider than the pipe. Where groundwater sits close to the surface, the trench can also take on water. Relining avoids the trench along the relined length.
Do you reline commercial and industrial pipes in Rockingham?
Yes. Commercial and industrial relining is part of what we do across the metro area, the Rockingham precinct included. Our commercial page covers how those jobs are scoped around trading hours.
What if part of the pipe has collapsed?
A liner needs a pipe that still holds its shape. Where a section has collapsed, that section is dug up and replaced, and the rest can still be relined. We tell you which from the footage before quoting.
